Power Cuts

Last Tuesday saw the power off for most of the day in the Church Road end of the village.
Consumers may claim compensation when the power goes off
1) for more than 18 hours, or
2) more than 4 times in one year, for at least 3 hours each time, with a year running from 1st April.
(diffeernt terms apply in bad weather or under extreme circulmstances).

Its easy to forget about powercuts a year later, and if you are away from home, you may not even know for how long it went off. So I'm starting this thread to make a note of when the power goes off in Little Leigh.

Tuesday 10th June

Power went of at Church Road end of Little Leigh at approx. 8.45am

Called Scottish Power and received an automated message at 10am.

Called at 2.30pm, and spoke to a human. Was told they were fixing a cable, and there were 48 homes off.

Power was restored at around 5pm.

Power off @ 12:30 Sunday 1st November. Back on @ 12:30 the next day...

Tree through cables in Bradley Meadow wood/canal side etc.

Sat 22nd May 2010 ~ 4pm. 10minute outage. MANWEB say fault on the high voltage network @ the Anderton substation.

Because on the HV network, managed to re-route the supply so wasn't off for long.

Mon 25th May 2010 - between ~ 4am and 6:30am. Fault on the high voltage network at the Acton Bridge substation.
